A lock of the type is described, particularly for electrical panel cabinets, comprising a first cogwheel, a second cogwheel , two shafts and motion transmission means adapted to transform the rotary motion of the cogwheels into a translational motion of the shafts, in opposite directions to each other, to bring them from a closed position to an open position and vice versa. The motion transmission means are disposed so as to cause a discordant rotation of the two cogwheels.
